I first saw the demo about 4 days ago and put 30 hours into it, getting myself a perfect starter, and a bunch of potents and 2 other perfects. you can compare this to Pokemon, the leading of the “monster hunting” genre, more specifically generation 5 or Pokemon Black & White given it’s pixel art styled look and sprites. Unlike any other catching game, this one puts some twists on the table. The world of Velua is displayed using an overhead perspective. The game is presented in 2D and uses pixel art. The systems added are simple yet add depth the story and world are brimming with the character, unlike recent Pokemon games and the graphics, music, and design are all immaculate, in my opinion. There’s a desert where you have to avoid sand so you don’t overheat, a swamp full of mushrooms to gather, and a power station with dozens of conveyor belt and door switch puzzles.Coromon is a visually gorgeous and mechanically deep Pokemon clone that outshines the blueprint in many ways. Outside of the monster fighting, you’ll be making your way through a variety of environments all with their own unique gimmick. Spinners are (you guessed it) essentially Poke Balls, so weakening wild Coromon and hoping they stay in your Spinner is the name of the game. As you wander about the world, wild Coromon will jump out at you pretty consistently and if you see one you like (or just want to catch ’em all) you should whip out your Spinners. It’s very familiar, but that doesn’t stop it from being entertaining. There are also status effects like poison and sleep, as well as plenty of buffs and debuffs to throw around. You send out one of your six Coromon to batter your opponent, choose from 4 moves of various elemental types and continue your fantasy cock fighting until one is left standing. Is functionally the same as it is in a Pokemon game. You can prohibit yourself from escaping matches. For example, you can limit the times you can use the Trainer Hub (the Pokemon center of this game) to heal your Coromon. You can adjust so many settings here to either make the game easier or incredibly hard. We hope you will enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed creating it! The QoL/accessibility features this game has is incredible. While staying loyal to the core gameplay, we wanted to add new features but also keep the iconic retro look, with a modernized pixel art style.
